"Kylee Phillips will take the stage to close out Tecumseh Center for the Arts’ (TCA) Black Box Summer Series on August 25 at 7:00 pm. The embodiment of Pure Michigan talent, singer-songwriter and pianist Kylee Phillips hails from Plymouth, Michigan. As a pop and folk artist, she has been likened to such artists as Sara Bareilles and Brandi Carlile. Kylee delivers an array of music that weaves together personal lyrics and an intimate performance style telling stories that are, as she puts it, “bigger than just me and my life.”
Local businessman Dan Hacker of Hacker Jewelers saw Kylee perform and recommended her to the Tecumseh Center for the Arts. “Dan Hacker approached me earlier this year about bringing Kylee Phillips to the TCA,” stated Director of Operations Kathy Field. "We focus the spotlight on Michigan based artists during our Black Box Summer Series that we think our community will enjoy. We always like to receive recommendations and ideas from community members.” Tickets for Kylee Phillips are $10 each and can be purchased online, at the Box Office window located at 400 N. Maumee Street in Tecumseh, Michigan, or by calling 517-423-6617. Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) is excited to bring Disney Pixar Monster’s, Inc. to the TCA for just $2 a person. In addition to the movie, guests can purchase popcorn, pop and water at the concession stand.
Monster’s, Inc. will be played at the TCA on August 18 at 1:00 pm. This animated feature from the creators of Toy Story shows us the life behind the scenes of things that go bump in the night. The big, blue and fuzzy James P. Sullivan (John Goodman) and his opinionated, one-eyed roommate Mike Wzowski (Billy Crystal) are two professional “scare specialists.” Their job is to harness the energy created when they make little kids scream. When they accidentally let a young girl named Boo into their world behind the closets and under the beds, it throws their life into chaos. This movie is rated G. Movie goers who attend Monsters, Inc. and who are participating in the City of Tecumseh Parks and Recreation program Looking for Bigfoot, can attend the movie for free. Program participants will need to wear their Tecumseh Squatch Squad t-shirt to receive free entry. The movie starts 1:00 pm with doors opening at 12 (noon). Movie goers can pay at the door starting at noon and pick their own seat with movie theater style general admission seating.
