Years ago, I walked out into our woods for the first time on Mother's Day. I was pregnant with our first born child. Coming from the city, I had never experienced a woods' floor as full of these beautiful white flowers as I had seen on that day. There were so many Trillium it looked like a white carpet covering the floor of the woods. It was incredible and I felt so blessed. From that day on, I considered the Trillium a gift to me from God on Mother's Day. When I paint them, I think of my three boys, and three main Trillium are the focus of this mural. I always hope it brings the same feelings of Hope, Healing, and Happiness to others that it brings to me when I see it.
