It's been two years since the Tecumseh Players have performed at the TCA and we couldn't be more thrilled for their return. Their last show Paint Your Wagon, performed in October 2014, took us to Northern California during the heady days of the Gold Rush, where too many men competed for the affections of too few women.
Centered around a miner and his daughter, the play followed the lives and loves of the people in a mining camp in Gold Rush-era California. Now the group has returned for The Christmas Schooner: A Musical. The Christmas Schooner is based on true stories of a Michigan shipping captain living in Manistique (on the north coast of Lake Michigan) who braves the deadly winter weather to bring Christmas trees to homesick German American families in turn-of-the-century Chicago. The whole family will enjoy this heart-warming story, based on the historic Great Lakes voyages of Christmas tree ships during the late 1800's and early 1900's. Directed by Heather Harris, the musical is based on the book by John Reeger with music & lyrics by Julie Shannon. Tickets for this show are $15 with performances on Friday, December 9 at 8 pm, Saturday, December 10 at 8 pm, and Sunday, December 11 at 2 pm. Tickets can be purchased through the TCA website at www.TheTCA.org or through the TCA Box Office located at 400 North Maumee Street in Tecumseh, Michigan. You can also purchase tickets by calling 517-423-6617 Tuesday-Friday from noon until 5 pm. For more information about this year's performance, visit www.TheTCA.org. Tecumseh Players is a non-profit volunteer community theater group. Their goal is to provide and promote quality live theater in Tecumseh, Michigan, and the surrounding area.
