The holidays are here once more! The month of November is such a valuable time for reflection on what matters most to us – our family and friends, our passions and goals, and what we choose to support during our lifetime. For me personally, I truly believe the theater, the arts and music all have a way of bringing people together. I also consider the TCA to be a place where people of all backgrounds and life experiences can feel welcome, where ideas can be shared, and life stories can be told in the hopes of creating empathy and understanding among each other. For that — I am truly thankful.
The 2018-2019 Season at the TCA has been a year of records. The number of season ticket holders has doubled in just three years with over 130 sold this season. Our business sponsorships have also increased this year to over $18,000. We have received grant awards from Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs (MCACA) to support our Homegrown Season, from the Elizabeth Ruthruff Wilson Foundation to host the annual Veterans Day concert, and from the Electronic Theatre Controls (ETC), Inc. to sustain our Student Tech Program. We are well on our way to another successful season! This year, we also have a goal to raise $14,000 in individual donations. These donations help cover the cost of general maintenance at the theater. Your donation will address some facility and equipment needs as we repair the sound and light boards, purchase lights and equipment, repair doors throughout the theater, replace air conditioning units and repair the boiler system. We hope you will support support Tecumseh Center for the Arts this year and participate in #GivingTuesday on behalf of the TCA. To donate, simply contact us at 517-423-6617 or donate online before December 31, 2018, to receive a charitable donation tax receipt this fiscal year. As a donor, you will be included in our playbills and recognized in our 2018-2019 Director’s Report. Tecumseh Center for the Arts is truly a gem for the Tecumseh community. The theater is dedicated to bringing high caliber entertainment to small town America and serves as “home” to many organizations including Tecumseh Youth Theatre (TYT), Tecumseh Pops Orchestra & Community Chorus and the TCA Big Band & VocalAires … to name a few. We want to continue playing this role in the community for many years to come. Your donation will help us meet our financial needs this season and keep the theater running smoothly and efficiently. The TCA staff wishes you a healthy and happy holiday season! And we hope to see you at the TCA. Cheers, Kelly Jo Gilmore Director | Tecumseh Center for the Arts | [email protected]
