.Kick off your Veterans Day activities a few days early and swing by the Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) on Monday, November 9 for a patriotic event celebrating our veterans and their families with a free Veterans Day concert beginning at 7:30 pm. The event is sponsored by the Elizabeth Ruthruff Wilson Foundation and takes place Monday, November 9 at 7:30 pm. The event is free and open to the public.

Music is being led by Adrian College’s Director of Bands Marty Marks who has compiled a group of local bands and musicians to perform a myriad of patriotic songs for your listening pleasure. The event will also feature a representative from Team Red, White and Blue whose mission is to connect American veterans to their community through physical and social activity (www.teamrwb.org) as well as Michigan Representative Nancy Jenkins.

Would you like to participate in this event by playing in the band? There are still seats available for interested participants. High School and College Band students, music teachers, and adult instrumentalists who live in Lenawee County are invited to participate in this great event to honor Veterans and their families. Interested participants should meet at the TCA (400 N. Maumee Street, Tecumseh, MI) from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The Concert begins at 7:30 and will last less than one hour. Parking and admission is free. To reserve a seat in the band, call Dr. Marty Marks at 517.264.3879 or email him at mmarks@adrian.edu with your name, instrument and your phone number.

Donations will be accepted during the concert for WLEN 103.9 fm’s Thank A Vet campaign. This annual fundraiser benefits Veterans of Lenawee County through the Veterans Dire Need Fund that LEAHC administers.

Doors will open at 6:30 pm on November 9. For more information, contact Tecumseh Center for the Arts at 517.423.6617 or email boxoffice@thetca.org.
