Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) is thrilled to host our 3rd Princess Day event on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Two years ago, the TCA introduced Princess Day complete with a castle and Prince Charming. Last year, we transformed the theater into Disney's Frozen with Princesses Anna and Elsa as well as Olaf. This year we join in the excitement of the new Beauty and The Beast movie due out in March and welcome Princess Belle to the TCA. The Event: Come on over to the TCA and celebrate the little princesses in your life. Princesses are encouraged to come dressed up in their own gowns while enjoying some royal treatment as they travel to stations throughout the theater including crafts, snacks, story time, games, gifts, hair and makeup. Princesses will also have the opportunity to meet Belle and have their photograph taken with her on our stage. We hope you will “be our guest” at this year’s Princess Day Event. Recommended for princesses ages 3 - 10 years of age. Note: This event is limited to 100 princesses per session, so get your tickets today! It's been two years since the Tecumseh Players have performed at the TCA and we couldn't be more thrilled for their return. Their last show Paint Your Wagon, performed in October 2014, took us to Northern California during the heady days of the Gold Rush, where too many men competed for the affections of too few women.
Centered around a miner and his daughter, the play followed the lives and loves of the people in a mining camp in Gold Rush-era California. Now the group has returned for The Christmas Schooner: A Musical. The Christmas Schooner is based on true stories of a Michigan shipping captain living in Manistique (on the north coast of Lake Michigan) who braves the deadly winter weather to bring Christmas trees to homesick German American families in turn-of-the-century Chicago. The whole family will enjoy this heart-warming story, based on the historic Great Lakes voyages of Christmas tree ships during the late 1800's and early 1900's. Directed by Heather Harris, the musical is based on the book by John Reeger with music & lyrics by Julie Shannon. Tickets for this show are $15 with performances on Friday, December 9 at 8 pm, Saturday, December 10 at 8 pm, and Sunday, December 11 at 2 pm. Tickets can be purchased through the TCA website at www.TheTCA.org or through the TCA Box Office located at 400 North Maumee Street in Tecumseh, Michigan. You can also purchase tickets by calling 517-423-6617 Tuesday-Friday from noon until 5 pm. For more information about this year's performance, visit www.TheTCA.org. Tecumseh Players is a non-profit volunteer community theater group. Their goal is to provide and promote quality live theater in Tecumseh, Michigan, and the surrounding area. For more information about Tecumseh Players, visit their Facebook page or email them directly. And to the Tecumseh Players .... welcome back to the TCA! |
