Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) is planning a week-long Fundraiser that includes three unique and exciting events including the Kentucky Derby Fundraising Event on Saturday, May 5 at 6 pm. Hold your horses; Fashion Fundraising Week culminates in the big event – the Kentucky Derby Fundraising Gala. This is your chance to dress to the nines and exhibit your most daring outfit and hat or “fascinator” – there will be a contest! The evening will also feature Derby staples such as Mint Juleps, lawn games, and, of course, the Kentucky Derby on the big screen. This is a brand-new event for the TCA! We look forward to watching the Kentucky Derby with the community and celebrating the theater with all of you. Tickets are $40 and includes concessions, cash bar, contests and your chance to win great prizes while raising funds for Tecumseh Center for the Arts. The Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) was an anonymous gift to the Tecumseh community in 1981. Originally named Tecumseh Civic Auditorium, The TCA house seats 572 guests. The Tecumseh Center for the Arts has been the place to perform in Tecumseh for over 35 years and now operates under the City of Tecumseh. It is through ticket sales, donations and sponsors that the TCA brings its seasons of fine entertainment to the community each year. We believe the TCA plays a vital role in making our city a wonderful place to live. Only through the generosity of people like you is the theater able to provide:

Fashion Fundraising Week continues, with the ever-popular Junk to Funk! Eco Fashion Show. We're putting the spotlight on local artists, designers, fashionistas and ecologists as their wearable funky fashions are modeled on the TCA stage. These imaginative creations are comprised of upcycled, re-purposed and recycled materials. We will also have a silent auction, featuring items from local businesses, tickets to upcoming performances, and some of the creative fashions featured in the show! Junk to Funk! takes place on Thursday, May 3 at 7 pm with doors opening at 6 pm. Tickets are $15 each. Are you interested in designing an outfit for the event? Artists, designers, ecologists and fashionistas are all invited to create wearable art from recycled items or repurposed materials, to be featured in the Junk to Funk! Eco Fashion Show. Anyone may participate! All designs must be made of reclaimed or recycled materials and be safely worn on the human body. Submission deadline for artwork is Tuesday, April 24.
