The Tecumseh Players will start off the Black Box Summer Series at Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA) on June 23 at 7:00 pm. Come out and join in the fun as Tecumseh Players showcase their talents at improv, staged readings and of course, a little bit of mayhem.
This casual event will include interactive theater and staged readings of The Kathy and Mo Show with audience participation. The group will also share information on their upcoming events and answer questions from the audience. Tecumseh Players will also be selling water and snacks to raise money for their organization. Best of all, this event will be a fun and informal way to meet the cast and to hear what Tecumseh Players have in store! Tickets will be selling fast for this performance. Starting June 19 through September 3, Tecumseh Center for the Arts’ Box Office will be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The Box Office will be open Wednesday-Friday from 12 (noon) – 5:00 p.m. The Box Office is also open one-hour before show time. The Tecumseh Center for the Arts: Shirley Todd Herrick Theater is a 572-seat, fully equipped performance facility, providing a wide variety of events that light up the stage. From Broadway stars to sensational chart topping bands and world class national touring acts to local theater companies and youth events, you'll find it all on stage at the Tecumseh Center for the Arts: Shirley Todd Herrick Theater. On Thursday, July 28, The Crossed Lines will perform live on the TCA stage. These seasoned Ypsilanti musicians consistently create thoughtful and passionate music complete with mandolin, fiddle and piano. This musical group with Tecumseh connections combines bluegrass, folk and rock that everyone will enjoy. Closing out the Black Box Summer Series will be Kylee Phillips on Thursday, August 25th. This up and coming pop singer, pianist, and song writer from Plymouth, Michigan, has garnered comparisons to Sara Bareilles and Brandi Carlile. Kylee has performed all over the state of Michigan, from her hometown of Plymouth to local music hot spots like Detroit and Ann Arbor performing with Crystal Bowersox, Kris Allen, The Proclaimers and Lee DeWyze among others. Come experience hot talent in a cool atmosphere during this year’s Black Box Summer Series. The TCA lobby lounge opens at 6:00 pm with a variety of refreshments including beer and wine.
