In August 2016, Kathy Field announced her resignation and retirement to the City of Tecumseh and the staff at Tecumseh Center for the Arts. Kathy will join her husband Dan in his retirement and is looking forward to beginning this next phase of their life together.
Kathy has served as Director of Operations since July 1, 2011, when Shelley Lim was appointed Director of Cultural and Leisure Activities over both Parks and Recreation as well as Tecumseh Center for the Arts. Since that time, the theater has experienced great success both in it's programming and total number of patrons and renters. Kathy became involved with the theater when she first started volunteering with Tecumseh Youth Theatre when her daughters were in school. Kathy volunteered with set design, costumes and show production. Several years later she was hired by Tecumseh Center for the Arts to assist in the front of the house with contracts and budgeting before being promoted to Director of Operations. Kathy has enjoyed her time at the theater and in getting to know all the patrons, renters, employees and volunteers. Even though her retirement begins November 1, Kathy is looking forward to enjoying shows as a patron. "I think the theater is a wonderful asset to the Tecumseh community," Kathy stated. "There is always something going on here." Shelley Lim, Director of Cultural and Leisure Activities, credits Kathy for building a strong foundation at the theater. "Kathy has been instrumental in managing the day-to-day operations over the past five years. I have enjoyed working with Kathy and wish her much happiness in her retirement."
